Hi – i do not react to eating or other small sounds described in most misophonia but chainsaws, lawn mowers, leaf blowers, weedwackers,, electric saws, action and horror film noises, atvs, jackhammers and general machine noises make me cry, get intensely angry, feel trapped, helpless and my very intense reactions make my family tease me and call me over sensitive. I also react to layered sounds like if music, dishwashers, conversations are all happening at the same time. These sounds feel like being physically hurt.
I will do anything to get away from them and if i cant i literally can not deal. I realize that this has impacted my life choices severely. I do not want to be in urban areas, i live i. The country and spend as much time as possible off grid and in places with no roads. I’ve chosen a job in the most quiet setting possible. I generally don’t like being around people because I can’t control the noises they make. Is this misophonia or something else.
