I recently heard of misophonia, and it’s describing what I’ve been feeling. My mother and I were out, and a woman was praying behind us. I was trying to keep my cool while also envisioning yelling at her to stop. (I didn’t, saving myself from embarrassment.) Just today, sitting in my school classroom, three of my classmates were constantly pausing and unpausing music, which caused anxiety to build, and that’s when I decided to do more research into this condition. I have heard that it is usually self-diagnosed, but I don’t want to jump to conclusions. A few online tests later, the internet has seemed to decide I have this condition. I am hoping to meet with a school counselor today.

Anyone that is officially diagnosed, if there be any, can you tell me if this is indeed misophonia or just regular stress. I don’t want to claim to have a condition if I actually don’t.

      Thank you!

Good luck in getting a diagnosis. Most GPs haven’t heard about Misophonia! In fact, I know of none!
