I definitely find it getting worse as I age. I am 47 now, and like others have always hated sound but never had a name for it until several years back. I find myself avoiding people including family, barely able to spend a few minutes with them at the dinner table. I feel terrible snapping at people when they chew too loud, or just the sound of them swallowing. I go through ear plugs by the gross.
The most recent issue, I can hear my own heartbeat – non-stop, beating and pounding in my ears, day and night. Absolutely maddening
